Dave and Pat Winchester they kept the light1963-1964 Pat (P. Jaye) found FOWIL last summer and this winter gave us a wonderful interview. She may be aboard some of the Wood Island tours this summer to let our visitors learn the inside scoop.

FOWIL Executive Committee Has a New Board Member Aaron Fox was our Membership Chair last year and has moved on to being our Web Master. He still serves on the EC. Renee Rotman has taken on the job of Membership Chair. She found the Friends of Wood Island Lighthouse last summer and liked what she saw and soon got involved helping out in many ways. She has a strong computer and technology background and is currently working setting up an IT program for Goodwill Industries. Send in your annual membership donation and keep Renee busy!

History Group Produces Two More Booklets We now have a selection of 6 booklets to relate the history and excitement of Wood Island Lighthouse. This summer, they will be available for purchase at the lighthouse, in the Red Geranium Gift Shop and in our online store. The two new ones are about the Ghost Hunt on the island and the Murder Suicide which took place in 1896. "A Night to Remember" "The Tragic Story of Murder and Suicide on Wood Island"

Our Outreach Program is Booming This winter Kathleen White, Outreach Chair, and Sheri Poftak, History Chair, gave a 2 hour presentation to the Senior College. Now, the Saco Rotary and Ocean Park Association have saved dates for their presentations. We have various audio and visual material to enhance our program which can be suited to your needs. Tours to Wood Island Lighthouse can be arranged for your group during July or August - a nice follow up to the presentation.
