Windows Computers: (Internet Explorer)
  • Windows 7 users may need to download the free Google Chrome web browser in order to view the webcams.
  • First time visitors to the site may be required to install ActiveX software. If this is not already installed on your computer, then an installation message will appear on your screen or in your pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer. Follow the instructions to install the software.
  • To view a full screen view of the webcam, press the Full Screen button. To return to the normal view, click anywhere in the screen.
  • To view a larger image of the webcam feed, select the "Client Setting" tab on the left side of the screen and change the view size to 640 x 480.
  • To use the Zoom controls, select the Zoom button. Increase or decrease the zoom amount by using the "W" and "T" buttons. In the preview window, drag the gray square to the location you wish to zoom in on. Select the Zoom button again in order to close the Zoom controls.
  • To capture a real time picture of Wood Island LIghthouse, select the "Snapshot" button. A snapshot of the current view on the webcam will be taken and display in a new pop-up window. Select the "Save" button to save the image to a location on your computer.
  • The Pause button may be used to pause the webcam's video feed.
  • The Stop button may be used to stop the webcam's video feed.
  • There is no audio available with the webcam, so those controls are inactive.
Macintosh Computers: (Safari 4.0.3, & FireFox 2.0.0 may work with limited capabilities)
  • The Webcam uses ActiveX software which is not supported on Macintosh Computers. Your web browser, may not be able to view the webcam. Those that can, will have limited viewing capabilities.
  • Select "Trust" to allow the Java Applet when asked.

  • Please be patient as the webcam view may take a few minutes to load.
  • If a popup window asks for a password, select "Cancel."
